Austin Powers is sixties sex-symbol and super spy, and everything is just 'groovy'. But when arch nemesis Dr. Evil cryogenically freezes himself and blasts off into the sky, Powers volunteers to be frozen as well and only be woken when Dr. Evil returns. Thirty-odd years later Evil returns, so Austin is recalled to action, and we go from there. Austin Powers is teamed up with special agent Vanessa Kensington (Hurley), as they attempt to foil Dr. Evil's empire from taking over the world.
This is the funniest film ever made, literally. Well, in my opinion. Mike Myers is brilliant and hilarious both as Austin Powers and Dr. Evil, in a great spoof of James Bond spy films. There are also a couple of clever 'naked' scenes, where tea pots and paintings are placed in positions so as to cover any actual nudity, which is almost like a dance routine.
True, some people didn't like this film, calling it silly and such names. Well Austin Powers is a silly film, but that's the beauty of it. Mike Myers carries the film really, but from start to finish this honestly is an amazing film, and I would suggest anyone who hasn't seen it to give it a go. And even if the jokes don't suit your sense of humour, you'll probably spend your time laughing at the sixties clothes if nothing else.
