Charles Morse (Hopkins) is a very rich man with a very young wife (Macpherson), and suspects she is having an affair with a work collegue Robert (Baldwin). One day when travelling to Alaska they have a helicopter crash leaving Charles, Robert, and assistant Stephen to fend for themselves. The place they crash is in such a place thay any search parties will have no luck in finding them so they must move on foot to a better viewed spot. However, it seems that a very large bear is nearby and makes the survivors trek that much more difficult...

I was dissapointed after watching this film. Although the performances are good and some of the scenery and effects are good, it was just too boring. I would have prefered more emphasis on the bear and other life-threatening obstacles, but the film mainly concentrates on the relationship between Charles and Robert, who although they hate each other (one is jealous of the other's wife, and the other because he suspects an affair) pretend to be friendly just to be civil. In fact at times it is a bit unbelievable that men who dislike each other so much, although forced to co-exist, don't just start trying to kill each other from the start (Hopkins suspects Baldwin wants to kill him anyway to have Macpherson to himself).

I personally would have prefered a film with more action, but this is more a drama. I am not sure who to recomend this to, but will warn younger viewers away for fear of just being bored. I know a lot of people enjoyed this, but I don't know who.
